Uzbekistan seeks cooperation with Indian textile industry

Recently, Ukrainian Minister I. Khaydarov, who is visiting India, met with Indian counterparts in New Delhi. During the meeting, he revealed to the media that Uzbekistan is seeking opportunities to cooperate with the Indian textile industry.

“We are discussing the issue of cooperation with Ginni International, which plans to invest in several projects in Uzbekistan. We also discuss cooperation issues with another company, the textile development company, which plans to move weaving production to our country. We also discussed cooperation plans with two silk production companies in Bangalore, said Khaydarov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Light Industry.

"Ultimately, I plan to bring at least 5-6 Indian companies to Uzbekistan through this visit," he added.

Khaydarov said: "The goal of India is to invest in the spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing sectors."

He said that cooperation can take the form of joint ventures or other forms. Indian textile companies can build 100% of wholly-owned enterprises in Uzbekistan.

In fact, Spentex is an Indian textile company that built its factory in Ukrainian State four years ago and is a 100% wholly owned production facility.
