Levi's Innovative Technology Launches Greener Jeans

Levi's, a jeans brand manufacturer, continues to develop technology and launches a line of jeans that significantly reduces water use during the manufacturing process.

According to Levi's US company, the use of new technology to manufacture a series of products, an average of 28% reduction in water, some new products can even reduce the use of 96% of water.

A pair of jeans consumes 42 liters of water on average after going through 3 to 10 wash cycles during the finishing process. However, Levi's company said that the new series of products can reduce production water consumption by reducing the number of washings, incorporating ozone treatment into the washing process, and removing water during the stone washing process.

Erik Joule, Senior Vice President of Purchasing and Branding at Levi's, stated that the company is actively pursuing the business philosophy of product style and sustainable environmental issues.

It is expected that the first products to adopt this new technology will be available for sale in January (2011), including Levi's dozens of classic denim products such as 501, 511 and 514 style jeans, and Levi's truck driver jacket.
