August 2010 Guangxi Nanning Redwood Crafts Sales Slow

According to reports from Hong Rui Furniture Factory, Mr. Yu shared that since August 2010, sales of rosewood handicrafts in Nanning, Guangxi have been relatively sluggish. He noted that the market has seen a noticeable slowdown, with many buyers merely observing rather than making purchases. Mr. Yu explained that the intricate craftsmanship involved in mahogany products, combined with their high cost, has led to a situation where many people are interested in these items but few actually buy them. Most consumers are waiting for prices to drop or for better opportunities to arise. This hesitation has created a slow-moving market, with only a small number of customers making purchases at present. Currently, the price of sandalwood rosewood (Indian lobular rosewood) in the high-end wood market is reported at around 700,000 yuan per ton, while the best quality pieces can reach up to 900,000 yuan per ton. Dalbergia japonica, known as Laos red rosewood, is priced between 4.5 to 6 million yuan per ton. Broadleaf Dalbergia, also called Indonesian black rosewood, is valued at 4 to 5 million yuan per ton. Meanwhile, Ao Danghuang, commonly referred to as Burmese rosewood, is reported to be between 1.2 to 1.5 million yuan per ton. These high prices reflect the premium value of these rare woods, but they also contribute to the current market stagnation, as potential buyers remain cautious and reluctant to commit. The industry is closely watching how demand might shift in the coming months.
